Tuzkan Lake sits out in the Jizzakh steppe, and the water is an improbable turquoise against the sand and scrub around it. We leave Samarqand in the morning, set up shade and mats lakeside, and spend the day swimming, floating, grilling, and doing very little else. As the light goes gold in the late afternoon, we watch the sunset from the water. This is Rhomb's flagship group day trip — it's the one where most people bring a friend who's never done one of these before, and it works.

Meet at Registan Street, load up, and head northwest toward Jizzakh.
Shade tents and mats go up lakeside; free swim time begins.
Community lunch on the shore — shashlik, salads, fruit.
Open water time, floats, and lakeside games.
One last swim as the light turns gold, then pack up and head back.

Brought my whole group chat
I'd been putting off going on one of these for months because I assumed it'd be expensive or intense. It was neither — just a really good day with people who turned out to be easy to be around. Already signed up for Nefrit Ko'llari.
